Welcome! Your building uses elumo to get you into meeting rooms with just your phone. The same tap does one of two things, depending on the situation:
Already booked it? Tap-to-unlock. You reserved the room ahead of time in OfficeRnD, so just tap the Reader at the start of your booking to open the door.
Need a room right now? Tap-to-book. If the room is free and you haven’t booked, tap the Reader and elumo books it on the spot, takes payment if it’s chargeable, and unlocks.
This guide covers the four things you’ll need to know.
1. Get your digital pass
Your elumo pass lives in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet — it’s your key to booking and unlocking rooms. Once it’s added, you just hold your device to a Reader. No app required.
Open the relevant invite from the QR code to set up your pass.
Verify your email address to receive a secure link to add to wallet.
Follow the steps to add the pass to any of your devices.
You’re ready. Hold the top of your phone to any elumo Reader to book or enter a room.
Scan the QR code provided by your building manager to add your pass:

2. Get into a room you’ve already booked
Booked a meeting ahead of time? elumo works alongside OfficeRnD — it doesn’t create these bookings and it isn’t your booking system for planned meetings. When it’s time, it simply lets you in.
Book ahead as usual in OfficeRnD, and invite your guests.
At the time of your meeting, go to the room and hold your phone to the Reader.
The door unlocks for your booking — walk straight in.
To change or cancel, edit the booking in OfficeRnD, just as you do today.
Tip: For planned meetings, elumo only unlocks the door — it doesn’t book, charge or change anything. Your OfficeRnD booking stays in control.
3. Book a room on the spot (Tap-to-Book)
Need a room right now and haven’t booked one? Check the Reader’s light ring — if it’s white the room is free. Hold your device to the Reader and, in under a second, elumo books it, takes payment (if the room is chargeable) and unlocks the door. No booking app, no waiting.
How it works:
Check the light ring first. White in the 12 o’clock position means the room is free; amber means it’s in use or already booked.
Tap-to-book. One tap creates the booking on the spot, takes payment if it’s chargeable, and unlocks the door.
Default booking length is 30 minutes.
The room is now booked to you, so no one else can tap in over your meeting.
4. What the Reader light ring means
Each elumo Reader has an LED light ring that shows a room’s availability at a glance, and confirms what happens when you tap. Here’s what to look for:
Available — white ring. The room is available; tap your phone to book it and go in.
Booked — Amber ring. The room is booked or occupied; it’s not available right now.
Booking coming up — White at 12oclock position and partially amber afterwards. The room is free now, but there’s a booking due soon.
Access granted — Green confirmation. The door is unlocked; go ahead.
Access denied — Red flash. The space isn’t available, or you don’t have permission.
Not available for tap-to-book/Access door only — Static Red ring. The door can only be accessed with an advanced booking, or with permanent access for an office door.
If your tap is declined:
Check the ring isn’t amber — the room may already be booked or in use.
Make sure your pass is set up in your wallet.
For a room booked in advance, check you’re within your booking time — the door only unlocks at your start time.
Still stuck? Contact your building team — they can check your pass, access and bookings.
